Earlier
during the week, Facebook minimized a blog post that was announcing the change
in the trending topic section since it was only available in 5 countries and
accounted for less than 1.5% of clicks to new publishers hence people found the
article to be less and less useful over time.
Facebook
has revealed its back up plan on replacing the trending topics section with “breaking
news” label and launched the ‘’today in” section on local news and also launch
video feed.
and weekly deep dives in its watch dive section and already carried out beta tests on them which caused 4% increase in clicks and shares and the today in section is driving 8% more traffic in publishers clicks which is actually a good sign.
