Huawei, a Chinese based smartphone industry has recently shocked the whole market and the world when it overtook Apple to become the second largest global smartphone seller right after Samsung, this rapid rise in the market is said to be caused due to the slowdown in China as the European market shares continued growing even despite the action taken by the US government against them as they tried to launch in the country.
Market analysts say that the rise of Huawei is a
significant move and could not be understated since it was the first time in
seven years that Samsung and Apple did not hold the first and second position
respectively.
Approximately 351 million smartphones were sold
globally during the second quarter recording a 2% drop from the previous year
due to market saturation, increasing prices, longer replacement rates and lack
of future designs.
Samsung was worst hit by this slowdown of the top three
smartphone industry by dropping 10% of the sales recording 71.9 million
smartphones for a 20% share of the market, Huawei sold 54.2 million phones for
15% of the market the Apple making it in the third position selling 41.3
million for only 12% of the market despite that recently hitting the trillion-dollar
market value selling approximately $207 per share.
